What? You thought he was going to pivot?

A couple of things have come across the Establishment Bar™ news desk.

First:
President Donald Trump’s acting head of the U.S. Agency for International Development told political appointees that the transition of power to President-elect Joe Biden hasn’t started yet.

John Barsa, the acting deputy administrator of USAID, privately told members of his team on Monday that, despite Biden’s victory, the transition of power has not started and will not begin until the General Services Administration signs off.

“The only official announcement about an election result that matters is from the head of GSA. So until the head of GSA makes a determination as to who won an election, nothing changes,” Barsa said, according to a recording of the meeting reviewed by CNBC. “There is no transition in place.”
Then:
The Trump campaign is not even considering having President Trump concede to President-elect Joe Biden, senior adviser Jason Miller said Monday.

Speaking to Fox Business‘ “Mornings with Maria,” Miller said the word “concede” was “not even in our vocabulary right now.”

“We’re going to go and pursue all these legal means, all the recount methods. We’re going to continue exposing and investigating all these instances of fraud or abuse, and make sure, again, that the American public can have full confidence in these elections,” the Trump adviser continued to host Maria Bartiromo.
I think it's safe to say that the Trump regime hasn't even begun to go through the stages of grief. Couple that with reports that Trump is thinking about running in 2024 (LOL), and you have all sort of hilarity ensuing.

Also add to this that the Government Services Administration is denying Joe Biden's request to begin transition planning, and you can see where this is going. Donald Trump is not going to go quietly. He's not going to make it easy for President-elect Biden to ensure a smooth transition. He is going to do everything he can to leave Pres. Biden with an unholy mess on January 20, 2021.

But here's the thing: It doesn't matter.

Yes, Trump and his hangers-on will act out Der Untergang. We may very well watch the spectacle of an ousted president being dragged out of the White House bunker. Then so be it. It will be a signal lesson to future wannabe autocrats. American democracy is stronger than you. It can withstand your devilry, and will eventually triumph. We may very well watch Joe Biden having to convene a parallel government due to having no cooperation from Trump. But it's not up to Trump to decide whether or not he'll leave. It's only up to him to decide how he wants to leave: Peacefully, or flanked by Secret Service agents and an FBI tactical team.

No, it's not Muammar Ghadaffi hiding in a sewer. But the effect is the same. Trump knows he's done, but can't admit it. He will act out the way he always has acted out, full of hubris and privilege. And that's fine. Because, to repeat, we're stronger than he is. He is nothing. He never was, but now even more so. He has failed at everything in his life, but has always been bailed out by those who thought they could derive some use from him. Now there's no cavalry coming to the rescue, unless it's the Charge of the Light Brigade, led by Rudy Giuliani palming his pud. He's facing arrest, other lawsuits, and possibly a commission looking into his multivarious crimes. His life is over. 2024? Focus on 2021, and being charged both by New York Attorney General Tish James and the Manhattan grand jury. Defeat is an orphan, and Trump will find that he'll be abandoned by everyone that matters.

History didn't end with the call for Joe Biden. We're likely to witness the most unpeaceful transfer of power in this country's history. But transferred it will be. And its difficulty will be one more account in the docket against Donald Trump.

Get out your popcorn. The fun's starting.
