Weekend self-care open thread: Samuel Coleridge-Taylor
Happy weekend, friends!
I've written about Samuel Coleridge-Taylor—not to be confused with English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge—on the previous blog. But as today is is birthday, this is as good a time as any to honor him for our self-care.
A Black English composer, he was held in high regard in his time—King George V granted his widow an annual pension of £100, which was a significant sum in the early 20th Century. His music has been rediscovered over the past few decades, and he's now regularly played in concert halls.
So, without further ado, let's engage in self-care.
As always, be good, be brave, be kind, and be beautiful.
