Mid-week open thread: Beauty break
As the nation descends into more chaos, with a political party aping the rhetoric of the Nazis, I've got nothing for today. What we need is a beauty break. So, for your Wednesday, I offer up Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto, with Martha Argerich as soloist. And the reason I do this is because the slow movement of the piece is one of the most achingly, hauntingly beautiful pieces of music to come out of 20th century Western European art music. Enjoy.
As always, be brave, be good, be beautiful.
