Our Last Chance to save the Republic

Editor's note

Hey ho, everyone! LL here. Let me take a moment to welcome our new writer, Andres Boland, late of The People's View, to our merry little band. Be sure to make him feel welcome to his new joint.

***************************************************************

Everyone, we must vote this November, wherever you are and whomever you are. It is our last chance to save America as we know it.

However, it would be unfair of me to expect you to do that without giving some instructions and some help—especially in light of how far Trump and the Republicans will go to suppress the vote.

Despite what the postmaster general may have said, there is every reason to believe that the United States Post Office is still compromised. I am still advising people to vote early in person if possible.

I will give you information on how to vote in the states that matter the most for November 3: Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Iowa, and of course my home state of Minnesota. Fivethirtyeight has indicated that these are the tipping point states. I will be including Nevada and New Hampshire, considering how close both states were last time around. Texas will be on the list because it is the second-largest state after California, and it is critical that Democrats gain ground at the congressional and state legislative levels there.

How to Vote Safely in Critical Swing States

Click on the states themselves to get more information about how to vote early. Click on Voting by Mail next to the state.
If your state is not on this list, click here. You will find information about how to vote in this environment on this link.

Your county or city clerk is frequently the best person to talk to about how to secure your early vote or how to vote early. Never assume your ballot is safe until it is directly counted. Your secretary of state’s website will likely have a mechanism to track your ballot.

Secretary Hillary Clinton, First Lady Michelle Obama, and President Barack Obama have issued their orders. Mail your ballot in right away, or vote early in person. But however you can, vote. End this nightmare.
