Tuesday open thread: Politics break

My family, beginning last year, decided to eschew the giving of Christmas gifts among the adults. Which benefited my nephew PJ quite nicely, as we all gave him gifts. (I gave him a starter set to Dungeons and Dragons, which I had planned to play with him, until COVID hit.)

What are your gift-giving traditions, and have they changed since becoming adults? And how are you going to celebrate a COVID Christmas? For the first time in my 51 years on this rock, we're not getting together for Christmas Eve. Another casualty of COVID, and Donald Trump's callous reaction to it.

This is your open thread.
