Breaking news open thread: The murder of Charlie Kirk
Hey everyone, since the original thread was getting top-heavy with comments, here's a new one to discuss the Charlie Kirk assassination. I have nothing much to add, save that those who live by the rhetorical sword may find themselves dying from an actual sword. His death as a person doesn't bother me; he wanted me and you and everyone like us at the very least oppressed, if not outright dead. His death speaks to the larger issue of decay in our Republic, where we've had two political assassinations in this summer, his and that of Minnesota legislator Melissa Hortman. As an avid student of the Roman Republic and its demise, I've read this book before, and it doesn't end well.
Have at it.
