Weekend self-care open thread: Get in formation!

If it weren't for the tireless efforts of Black American women, this country would have descended into fascism long ago. Black women save our asses time and again, and they shouldn't have to. Descendants of slaves and sufferers of misogyny should have no attachment to this nation. And yet they do. And I thank God for that.

So for our weekend self-care, we honor these heroes. May we be worthy of their example.

My friends, mirror Black women. Mirror their strength. Mirror their resilience. Mirror their joy. And never, ever, take them for granted, or expect them solely to do the work we should also be doing.

As always, be ever kind, gentle, and joyful with yourselves and those around you.
