Thursday open thread: Good news out of Tennessee
Franklin, TN mayor Ken Moore |
Despite the title of this piece, I will begin with this:
A mob of savages banged on the door to the library where Jewish students took refuge as the mob "protested" for the "freedom" of Palestine. Campus police were present but didn't wish to "engage" with the mob. The students were finally rescued, escaping via tunnels. Let that last sentence seep into you: in America, in 2023, Jews are having to scurry down tunnels, as if they were escaping a roundup in Vichy France, to not get lynched by "peace-loving" Hamas supporters. These people are the loud, clanging minority, who are eradicating any sympathy the Palestinian cause might have had. They have engaged in nothing but Jewish eliminationism, not even caring about a two-state solution, but wanting the state of Israel to be eradicated completely and Jews slaughtered.Jewish students at Cooper Union are in the library as protestors pound on the door.

I now present a contrast to that loud, clanging minority:
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — In perhaps the most bizarre race that this picturesque Middle Tennessee community has ever experienced, Franklin voters resoundingly rejected a candidate for mayor who openly embraced white supremacists and Christian nationalism.
Incumbent Mayor Ken Moore easily defeated Gabrielle Hanson, a local real estate developer and first-term city alderman who faced one controversy after another. White supremacists showed up at a candidates forum in a show of support for Hanson, who refused to distance herself from the men despite broad condemnation from fellow aldermen.
Final election results show Moore garnered 12,822 votes (79.4%), compared to Hanson's 3,322 votes (20.6%).
The election results also brought a decisive defeat for other MAGA candidates for alderman-at-large that had been supported by the far-right Williamson Families PAC, including Jeff Feldman, Patrick George and Gary Moore.
"The challenges of this election have made our community stronger," Moore said as he and his supporters celebrated their victory.
That's right. The "unstoppable" MAGA train was, again, stopped. This time by voters in a county which is designed to vote for someone like Hanson.
I know the times are dark. And I know the news is nothing but awful. But this outcome is important. This outcome is illustrative. An actual Nazi ran in an area which would stereotypically be considered fertile ground, and she lost. She lost, as one is wont to say, "bigly". Why? Because the red-pilled right and the red-pilled left are not the majority. They're not even a large plurality. They're the losers of the world looking for something, anything, to give their empty lives meaning. They think they're building toward utopia, but are actually ushering in Armageddon. But they're the small, febrile minority. What they have are loud mouths and a propensity for violence. We've handled their like before. We will again.
Let the first story in this piece be fuel to make the second story the fact across the country. Pick a vulnerable GOP representative and donate to their opponent. Don't waste your time getting into arguments online; that does nothing. Action on the ground is how we go from that first story to the second. Victory is not assured, but I'd rather be us than them right now.
