Humpday open thread: Yakkity-yak, spill it to Jack

Many of us suspected this to be the case:
Former President Donald Trump's final chief of staff in the White House, Mark Meadows, has spoken with special counsel Jack Smith's team at least three times this year, including once before a federal grand jury, which came only after Smith granted Meadows immunity to testify under oath, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The sources said Meadows informed Smith's team that he repeatedly told Trump in the weeks after the 2020 presidential election that the allegations of significant voting fraud coming to them were baseless, a striking break from Trump's prolific rhetoric regarding the election.

According to the sources, Meadows also told the federal investigators Trump was being "dishonest" with the public when he first claimed to have won the election only hours after polls closed on Nov. 3, 2020, before final results were in.
So. Mark Meadows flipped like a yummy flapjack. He flipped like a dolphin gaily doing somersaults in the cool ocean air. He flipped like a mean girl flipping her hair. You get the picture.

And his flipping will definitely help with the feds, as he has absolute immunity. However, he still faces trial in Georgia. But, as the daily parade of those charged strike deals with Fulton County DA Fani Willis shows, the door to a plea deal is not off the table. If Meadows gave up the goods on Trump in DC, does he really want to go down with the ship in Atlanta?

Things appear to be picking up, with Willis picking off four minnows and Jack Smith flipping Meadows. Some people are finally figuring out that Trump will do nothing for them. He won't support them. He won't pay for their legal bills. He's a black hole of need and narcissism. All his relationships are unreciprocated. He loves no one—no, not even himself. His entire life has been one of filling it with baubles to hide to himself his absolute depravity and awfulness.

Should people like Meadows and Jenna Ellis face severe consequences? In a perfect world, yes. But we're trying to get the rotting head, not the rest of the fish. Destroying Trump is simply that important. And yes, I chose "destroying" on purpose. Of course, this is about justice; but justice will only come about when Trump is sentenced to spend the rest of his days in prison, a traitor to the country and the Constitution. Mark Meadows' flip brings us that much closer to that day. It's imperfect, but we are a fallen race.

Post-script

Of course, Mark Meadows' lawyer is denying the ABC story. However, I'd be more likely to believe this guy than anyone from that rotten bunch of ne'er-do-wells:
