Weekend self-care open thread, part 2: The eternal power of Bob Marley

Forty years ago this week, Bob Marley left this plane of existence.

Marley's impact on the world is hard to overstate. He wasn't merely a musician. He was a force of nature. He was a poet for the dispossessed, and a prophet for the downtrodden. His message was one of love, always love. Giving in to hate would have been unthinkable to him. If you ask someone who knows nothing of reggae music who Bob Marley was, they'll know his name. His early death robbed the world of a moral voice it so sorely needed. If he had lived, he would have stood alongside freedom fighters like Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu.

Now let's enjoy his music for part two of our three-part weekend self-care.

Also, we continue our weekend fundraiser. Again, Trevor and I do this out of love for the community we've built. But pot gummies and bourbon don't come cheap. So if you can, add a little bit to the kitty.

As always, be good, be brave, be bold, be beautiful.
