Hot off the presses!

Well! This afternoon has been a hive of activity in Impeachmentland!

Off to the highlights.

Rudy did what now?

If you had "Rudy Giuliani butt dialed an NBC reporter and recorded a conspiracy" on your Bingo card, you're a winner!

The report details Giuliani's need for cash, his dubious work in Bahrain, his railing against the Bidens and John Kerry's son, and this:
The recording ends the same way it began. “They don’t want to investigate because he’s protected, so we gotta force them to do it,” Giuliani says, before apparently turning to the president’s now-infamous call with the Ukrainian president.
“And the Ukraine, they’re investigating him and they blocked it twice. So what the president was [unintelligible word], ‘You can’t keep doing this. You have to investigate this.’ And they say it will affect the 2020 election.”
This would be as if John Gotti, rather then being wiretapped, left a rambling message on an FBI hotline detailing his criminal conspiracy. These people are the opposite of world-class criminals. They're petty thugs who are in way over their heads.

He seems to be making unfounded allegations about Joe Biden as well in the messages, saying that "things will come out". Now, as we know, there is nothing to indicate that Biden has any corrupt skeletons in his closet. We can only aver that there will be lies told about Biden's dealings in foreign countries. Or, you know, Rudy's brain is Swiss cheese.

In any event, fearing these people—even though they have the power of the most powerful government apparatus in their control—is a non-starter. I bet none of Vladimir Putin's henchmen ever mistakenly left messages on the cell phones of investigative journalists.

They dared call it impeachment

Of course, the big news is this:
A federal judge on Friday ruled that the Justice Department must turn over former special counsel Robert Mueller's grand jury evidence to the House Judiciary Committee, a groundbreaking victory for Democrats in their effort to investigate whether President Donald Trump should be impeached for obstructing the long-running Russia probe.
In a double victory for Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Judge Beryl Howell — the chief federal judge in Washington — ruled that the impeachment inquiry Democrats have launched is valid even though the House hasn't taken a formal vote on it. The decision rejects arguments by DOJ and congressional Republicans that a formal vote is necessary to launch impeachment proceedings.
"Even in cases of presidential impeachment, a House resolution has never, in fact, been required to begin an impeachment inquiry," Howell determined, dismissing GOP arguments as unsupported.
I don't think I can overstate how huge this is. A federal judge has ruled that the House is in fact engaged in an official impeachment inquiry, and that a vote of the full House has never been  necessary to initiate one.

No doubt the Trump regime will appeal this ruling to the DC appellate court. But it's doubtful that they'll win on appeal when a lower court judge lays out the reasoning for his ruling. It may not even take up the case and allow the lower court ruling to stand. In which case Halloween Eve will be very bad for the regime indeed.

The mustache gets his vengeance

And from the New York Times, the Mustache of War will have his pound of flesh.
Among the star witnesses who could deliver explosive public testimony in front of live television cameras could be John R. Bolton, the president’s former national security adviser, who has been described in testimony as alarmed by what appeared to be pressure on the Ukrainians by Mr. Trump and his allies.
Now, we're in a timeline where a warmongering monster like John Bolton is going to be one of the heroes of the narrative. But even a warmongering monster like John Bolton balks at outright treason against the Republic. The added bonus of his testimony is that it can't be painted as leftist propaganda. Bolton has always been a darling of the "real men go to Tehran" right wing. Bolton's testimony might be what tips establishment GOP support for Trump to plummet.

Happy Friday, patriots. We have the wind at our backs.
