Weekend self-care open thread: September

Hello, my babies!

Well. When the House passed its bill to eliminate the time change, I was none-too-well pleased. Call me kooky, but I love the change of time. For those of us in warmer climes, it signals the change of the season, the turn of the year, and the time to hibernate and regenerate for the torrid sun-filled months.

And September is here to usher in that season. In a few short weeks it will be the autumn equinox in these northern latitudes. It will be time to break out the warm clothing, to get rain boots on, to plan outdoor activities so that you're not too cold. This was my favorite time of year growing up in New York, and it's still my favorite time of year here in beautiful Southern California, which, against all calumny, does have seasons.

This weekend we shall celebrate the arrival of September.

Share your favorite pieces of whatever season in the comments.

As always, dear friends, be ever kind, gentle, and joyful to yourselves and those around you.
