AIPAC!!!


Two stories are rolling concurrently in Maine.

The first involves incumbent senator Susan Collins being a very naughty girl.

In the final weeks of 2019, a top fundraiser for Sen. Susan Collins walked into a perilous meeting at a Corner Bakery in Washington, D.C.

For the first time in her two-decade Senate career, the Republican lawmaker from Maine was in danger of losing her seat. President Donald Trump’s dismal approval ratings were dragging her down in the polls, and she was falling behind her likely 2020 Democratic challenger in fundraising.

Scott Reed, head of the Collins super PAC, was on a mission to close that gap. Reed was meeting that day with three executives from a Hawaiian defense contractor, Navatek. A year earlier, Collins had helped their company land a multimillion-dollar Navy research contract in Maine. Now, seated at a coffee shop not far from the U.S. Capitol, Reed asked them for a $500,000 donation.

Government contractors are banned from making political contributions. More consequentially, for the company to offer donations to Collins in exchange for an official action, or for Collins to accept, would constitute criminal bribery.

But the company did have such a proposal: Navatek was hungry for more government contracts in Maine. If they cut a big check, the CEO told Reed, Navatek wanted Collins to guarantee tens of millions of dollars in additional federal funding.

To skirt campaign finance laws and conceal the source of the funds, Navatek planned to funnel the donation through a shell company. The CEO wanted assurance that Collins would know where the money came from. Reed confirmed that she would, the executive said — and that Navatek would get its government contracts.

After the Corner Bakery meeting, Navatek’s CEO, Martin Kao, sent an initial $150,000 to the Collins super PAC using the shell company. Two months later, he told Navatek executives that Collins committed to getting the company $32 million in naval contracts, according to an internal company email reviewed by ProPublica.

Naughty naughty. Collins, known for being perpetually concerned, didn't seem too concerned about accepting out and out bribery.

Of course, the FBI was on to this scheme, and was investigating under Joe Biden's administration. But then? Donald Trump was re-elected.

FBI spokesperson Ben Williamson said the agency had investigated claims against Collins years ago “and ultimately found nothing implicating Senator Collins or Senator Collins’ campaign. Any suggestion otherwise is totally false.” Williamson said the Trump administration has removed agents only “if they have been found to have acted unethically, undermined the mission, or engaged in weaponization of law enforcement.”

This is major—and is why outlets like ProPublica are so valuable in an era when mainstream news media are not interested in this type of investigative journalism which ruffles the feathers of those in power in the Republican Party.

This scandal, of course, is a boon to Collins' challenger in November, Troy Jackson. He won a shortened primary when neo-Nazi and rapist Graham Platner dropped out. One would think that Democratic-aligned forces would be happy with this. Well, not quite.

 

AIPAC-aligned Democrat Henry Beck is hosting a big ticket fundraiser in New York City for Troy Jackson's Senate Campaign this week. Jackson will headline the pro-Israel host's event, according to a copy of an invitation obtained by Drop Site’s @nathantbernad.

The fundraiser host, Beck, a former state treasurer, has been a leading pro-Israel advocate in Maine, having recently moved to NYC to work for an asset management firm. In January 2024, he traveled to Israel to meet with IDF soldiers as part of a 10-person delegation organized by the American Israel Education Foundation, AIPAC’s arm which funds trips to Israel.

While State Treasurer, Beck released a controversial statement from the Treasurer's office on the one-year anniversary of October 7 on the importance of “maintain[ing] our important relationship with the people of Israel,” while declining to mention any of Israel’s war crimes. At the time of Beck's one-year anniversary statement, the United Nations reported that Israeli attacks had killed over 41,600 Palestinians following the October 7 attack. Women and children accounted for at least half of the death toll.

Asked for comment, the Jackson campaign did not directly address what the fundraiser means as it pertains to Jackson’s commitment to confronting Israel’s genocide. Jackson campaign spokesperson Cheyenne Gallivan told Drop Site in a statement: “Troy opposes U.S. taxpayer-funded military aid to Israel, has described Israel’s assault on Gaza as a genocide, and has pledged to reject money from AIPAC.”

Ah, yes. Proof of Collins' corruption is revealed, and the Hamas apologists begin to link Jackson with everyone's favorite boogeyman, the golem AIPAC. It's almost as if these people don't really want Democrats to gain control of the Senate if it means that dirty Jew money has anything to do with it.

The AIPAC panic on the left is as hideous as the trans panic on the right. As Jackson's statement shows, he's still all-in on demonizing Israel and AIPAC and anyone who supports Israel. But it's never enough. It will never be enough. Unless Jackson comes out and declares that Israel must be wiped off the map and its Jews either killed, exiled, or allowed to live as a rump in a Hamas-ruled state as dhimmis, he will always be looked on as suspect, especially since he had the temerity to replace the sainted Graham Platner on the ballot. 

The left has taken the destruction of Israel and Jewish life in the Levant—from where Jews have never been absent for three thousand years—as the only cause of any value. Anything else—civil rights, women's rights, gay rights—are as nothing compared to that holy apparition. Jews must be extirpated so that those brown Arabs and Persians can finally realize that they're actually communists who love gay people and usher in a new Utopia.

To be quite frank, I find these people repugnant. They are barely human. They have latched onto a hatred of Jews every bit as odious as that of the Nazis—and of the Communists. They see Jews, as so many before them have, as the cause of their failures in life. If only Jews were to disappear, or at least to be subjugated and exiled from public life, then their lives would improve dramatically. They would then take their rightful places as the benevolent stewards in a new socialist world regime, the revolutionary vanguard which a benighted humanity requires, and without which it will be mired in darkness.

German chancellor Friedrich Merz had this to say after the neo-Nazi AfD and the communist Die Linke seized control of two states and Berlin:

In remarks at his press conference in Berlin yesterday, following his CDU party’s heavy defeats in two state elections, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz lamented that Jewish life in Germany “is no longer safe,” Germany’s dpa news agency reports.

“The CDU, and I personally, are committed to doing everything possible to ensure that Jewish life in Germany, and here in the capital, Berlin, is safe,” Merz is reported to have said. “And wherever that is threatened, we will oppose it with everything at our disposal,” the news agency quotes Merz saying.

"LL? Why do you write so much about Jews?"

Because the safety of Jews is the canary in the coalmine. When Jews are safe, society functions in a mostly-rational manner. But when Jews no longer have safety, that's the warning sign of a society about to crater into dysfunction and violence. There is no difference between antizionism and antisemitism. And anyone who says there is is selling you a bill of goods to salve your guilt. 

The idea that AIPAC is the greatest threat to democracy when the UAE and other Gulf states are buying universities is farcical. Qatar gifted Donald Trump an ersatz Air Force One, which he can't even use. But, of course, the oil kingdoms are under the tyranny of a nation of nine million Jews. If only a Final Solution were to be found for that problem, as day follows night they would liberalize and become leftist paradises.

With my dying breath, I will stand by my Jewish brothers and sisters. I hope that over the next few years the world pulls back from the brink of a repeat of history. That is one of my tasks as a human being.
