Tuesday open thread: Trump testimony, New Hampshire, and the bull market

Hello Barflies! Well, today promises to be interesting.

Assuming that court isn't delayed again due to Covid, sexual predator Donald J. Trump will be testifying in the E. Jean Carroll trial. Unless, of course, he chickens out. Remember that during the first trial he was going to jet back to New York from Scotland to confront the dastardly woman. As usual, he was all mouth. If he does testify, how badly will his increasingly-evident dementia affect his performance? I mean, last weekend he confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi, and he still thinks Barack Obama is in office. While my preference is still for him to spend the rest of his miserable, waste of a life behind bars, I would be amenable to him succumbing to whatever malady is quickly taking over his mind and vanishing into darkness. I'm not one of those people who wishes ill on no one. On someone as evil as Trump, I wish every misfortune.

Oh, did you know there's a primary election in New Hampshire today? No? Well, I'm not surprised. On the GOP side, Haley has a snowball's chance in Hell of beating Trump. Meanwhile, the Democratic primary is merely a popularity contest, as the Democratic National Committee stripped the state party of its delegates for it refusing to honor South Carolina being the first Democratic contest. President Joe Biden isn't officially on the ballot; however, even so, he's leading by fifty points as a write-in candidate. This contest is as pointless as virginity in a bordello. But it's never not amusing at how badly a 99%-majority-white state reacts to being denied any amount of decision-making power. Oh well. Welcome to the future.

Meanwhile, have you checked your 401(k) lately? You should, because it should be exploding in value. The Dow Jones and NASDAQ are on a super-bull run, breaking records daily for highest close. I checked my 457(b) yesterday, and holy smokes, my account has appreciated by 3% in one week! Thanks, Dark Brandon! If this is an "inevitable recession", gimme more of it!

Chat among yourselves. This is your open thread.
