OK you hepcats and satin dolls, we're done with things of a serious nature for the next few days. Christmas is here, bringing good cheer to all the good girls and boys!

For this first half of our long weekend, we're going to explore some UK Christmas number one hits. What are those, you may ask? Well, in Britain the song which is at the top of the charts come Christmas is called the "Christmas Number One." It's a huge honor for an artist to have a UK number one at Christmastime. The songs are usually not Christmas-themed; they're just whatever happens to be in the top slot at the time. There have been, however, very famous Christmas songs at the top of the charts.
