In memoriam Ennio Morricone

Well, friends, the SCOTUSPALOOZA was something of a bust. So for the rest of the day, we'll honor the life of a giant of cinema and music.

Ennio Morricone passed away today. The scores he wrote for the silver screen were unique. You knew immediately when a Morricone piece came on. His signature was as distinctive as any pop group's.

From spaghetti Westerns to "The Mission", his music was imbued with grace, light, and humanity. It's gutting to think that good people like this meet their final quietus, while the malevolent continue to prosper. But that's how it is in this fallen world, and all we can do is to continue to work to heal this earth.

For the rest of the day, let's celebrate life.

Have a blessed Monday, friends.
