How antifascism works
Oh, you sweet summer children.
Really, give me the confidence and sense of safety of a white leftist. The belief that the systems which have supported civilized life for centuries can be jettisoned for and replaced with "ass kicking fascists on the street" and it will have no impact on your life. It must be wonderful to be so unencumbered with silly fears.
Now, yes, you can say that people like this are bots. But, sadly, many aren't. Many have no idea of what the common good is. They have no care about learning what it is, either. They are as narcissistic and as firm in their moral certainty as any MAGAt.
Let's look at what this "trans, anarcha feminist" really means.
What she really means is that she has no concern for anyone but herself, and perhaps her immediate circle. The rest of the Republic can go hang as long as she is able to wrap her righteousness around her like a warm blanket. Courts, legislation, voting? Useless. All you need to do is head out and beat up people you think are fascists.
Has she gone out and kicked the asses of ICE thugs terrorizing my Latino community. Of course she hasn't. Because if she had tried, an ICE agent would have put a cap in her head with no hesitation. And she doesn't look like the sort who would actually put her body on the line for me and mine like that, regardless of her bravado. People like this talk a big game, but then just huddle with their neofolk anarchist collective on Bandcamp and rage against the machine.
At least she makes no pretense of being the Democratic Party's "base". As a proud nonvoter, I'm sure she considers even the CPUSA as tainted by the ordure of electoral politics. How can one be a true anarchist if one cares one whit about their neighbors?
I will go further: I'm sure this person was glad when Donald Trump was re-elected. That allowed her to live out her fantasies of violent resistance. Fantasies which are just that: fantasies, not based in any lived reality.

But yes. I do know quite well "how antifascism works". And it's not through performative idiocies like this person's. Antifascism is caring for your neighbors. Antifascism is participating in the politics of the country to which you belong. Antifascism is voting to prevent the fascists from gaining power. Anything other than that is just masturbatory preening to make your mates in the collective impressed with your perception of praxis.
I'd say someone like this is dangerous. But that would be giving her too much credit. She's not. She won't budge the world one centimeter. She will live her life in blissful ignorance, believing that the shadows she sees on the cave wall are reality. But she serves as a signal lesson that some people are useless mouths and contribute nothing to the community. We should let them pass.
