Weekend Self-Care: 90s Dance Anthems!
Millennials have entered the chat.
At least those of us who came of age in the mid-90s. Because while our Gen X brethren were hitting up da club, we elder millennials were rocking away at our middle school dances. And being a generation raised on MTV, we were up to speed with the latest and greatest dance songs of the day, courtesy of the music video. When it came time for us to purchase our first cassettes and CDS, many of us gravitated toward dance mixes or the now-famous That's What I Call Music series, which currently has a discography of over 80 albums in the United States alone. We were the original DJs who got our start by tape-recording songs from the radio (a concept quite confounding to Gen Alpha). We were born to dance, and thanks to the artists of the day, we did so with reckless abandon.
As a sequel to our wildly popular 80s dance weekend, we're moving ahead a decade and groovin' to the 90s. Feel free to include your favorites in the comments below. Dance like nobody is watching because you deserve to dance, damnit! And, as always, be kind and loving to those around you.
This is our 90's dance anthems open thread.
