Today's Stop on the Great Socialist Revolution Tour is Florida. Wait, what?!
Leave it to DSA to once again fail to read the room.
Fresh off their embarrassing defeat in Wisconsin, where their candidate blew a 22-point lead, DSA decided that the best way to wrap up their Hot Girl Summer would be to take on a sitting Democratic congressman in Florida. But unlike their primary victories in New York, Pennsylvania, and Colorado, which took place in ultra-gentrified districts, tonight's race in the recently redrawn FL-25 is one that is a legitimate toss-up come November. That's no accident; in fact, it's a design by Governor Ron DeSantis to bend the knee to Donald Trump and pick up additional House seats this fall. The FL-25 race is a litmus test for DSA to see if they can finally win a contested primary in a non-gentrified swing state. Their reason for selecting this particular district should be of no surprise to those of us paying attention.
The FL-25 incumbent is Congressman Jared Moskowitz, a true champion for the Jewish community.
We see DSA consistently blaring its raging antisemitism via bullhorn rather than dog whistle. At this point, they've given up trying to pretend that they're targeting "Establishment" politicians. With 28 congressional districts to choose from in Florida, DSA could have run a number of candidates in overtly blue districts, similar to what they did in New York. But they know antisemitism is all the rage on the far-left today, so they've gone all-in on challenging those nefarious Democrats propped up by AIPAC. Moskowitz has been outspoken in his support for Israel, putting him on DSA's radar of candidates to primary this cycle. This clearly wasn't some spur-of-the-moment decision, as DSA endorsed Moskowitz' opponent, Oliver Larkin, on March 31st, making it their first national endorsement of 2026. Before the primaries in Pennsylvania, New York, and Colorado, DSA was prioritizing this race in particular. What better way to strike down evil AIPAC than by defeating a leading Jewish Congressman? That is the only reason why DSA selected this particular race in the first place.
Believe it or not, Larkin is bullish on his chances of winning this evening, due largely to how he believes his message is landing with voters in the district. He has gone all-in on criticizing Moskowitz' support of Israel, which has been the hallmark of DSA candidates this election cycle. He was set to have a rally with notorious antisemite Rashida Tlaib this past weekend in Fort Lauderdale, before the Jewish owners of the venue cancelled the event due to concerns about Tlaib's well-documented anti-Israel statements and views. Larkin is an endorsed candidate on the antisemitic website Track AIPAC, which has a documented history of selectively endorsing candidates based on how much money they receive from "Jewish" supporters and supporting organizations. He has been publicly endorsed by Citizens Against AIPAC Corruption. And, to top it all off, he went on Fox News last week and described Israel's current state structure as "religious supremacist" and advocated for it to become a "secular and democratic state with equal rights for all people."
A bold strategy for a district where 25% of the voters identify as Jewish.
But that's what DSA does. It's why they fail to flip competitive seats. They are so obsessed with AIPAC and Jewish voters that they go all-in on their antisemitism while pretending it's about the influence of big money in politics. DSA wants a Democratic Party devoid of its traditional base of Black and Jewish voters. They want a version of the Democratic Party where white, upper-middle-class voters call the shots. Because in their minds, they are the ones who know what's best for Black and Jewish communities. DSA conveniently ignores the impact of intersectionality because they prioritize class over everything else. They honestly believe that racism and sexism would suddenly vanish if everyone had universal healthcare and a living wage. Never mind that there are countless stories of wealthy people of color being discriminated against simply for how they look or how they pray. DSA lives in a fantasy world where systemic racism ceases to exist once you reach the middle class. There's a reason why less than 4% of DSA members are Black; they innately understand that these white "saviors" care nothing for them or their lived experience.
Polling has been historically bad this election season. We should not take anything for granted. But based upon the district and the campaign Oliver Larkin has been running, it would be a huge surprise for him to win tonight. Jared Moskowitz should easily win the primary by double digits. A Moskowitz victory would send DSA off into the fall with two crushing defeats and their golden child in Michigan continuing to fall behind in his general election matchup. At a time when primaries are wrapping up, and we move toward the general election, we will finally have a break from DSA and their slate of unqualified, antisemitic candidates that the media had been so willing to thrust upon us over the past four months. We will finally get to look at the entire slate of congressional candidates and decide which ones in swing states we prioritize with our resources. Based on what we anticipate, the candidate coming out of tonight's FL-25 race should be the one best equipped to take on his Republican opponent in November.
And that candidate is none other than staunchly pro-Israel Congressman Jared Moskowitz.
