Thursday open thread: Why they fear Adam Schiff

Do you want to know what's behind the censure vote of California representative Adam Schiff? Here it is.

By the time Mr. Schiff was done with Special Counsel John Durham, he had him admitting that the whole basis of his sham investigation was, well, a sham.

Mr. Schiff was the most lethal Democrat bringing forth Donald Trump's first impeachment. He fileted his "defense", such as it was. This exchange between Messrs. Schiff and Durham show him severing Mr. Durham's head from his neck without him ever noticing it.
Durham: “Russians intruded into—hacked into the systems, they released information”

Schiff: “And Trump made use of that, didn’t he, by touting those stolen documents on the campaign trail over a hundred times"

Durham: "I don't really read the newspapers, or listen to the news. So I don’t know that."

Schiff: "Were you totally oblivious to Donald Trump’s use of the stolen emails on the campaign trail more than a hundred times? Did that escape your attention?”

Durham: "I am not aware of that."
He showed the counsel to be the empty suit he was meant to be. He was nothing be a lackey put in by former Attorney General Bill Barr to muddy the waters as to Trump's collusion with Russia. And Mr. Schiff highlighted that for anyone outside of the right-wing bubble to see.

Simply put, Mr. Schiff is one of the party's top five messengers. He never raises his voice. He never gesticulates. He merely lays out the facts of the matter in a way which drives the message home. And the House GOP can't have that.

As of this writing the second censure motion hasn't been voted on. But it's no matter. It will pass. And it will mean nothing. This is nothing but partisan revenge on a man who loudly and accurately demonstrated Donald Trump's treason and sedition. And in 2025 he will be the junior senator from my great state of California, while the likes of his committee chair Jim Jordan will be wailing in the minority for having done nothing to benefit the majority of Americans in this Congress. Steve McCarthy thinks he will be killing the messenger; he will do nothing of the sort. Mr. McCarthy isn't in the same league. And he will simply make Mr. Schiff even more certain to lock in my state's Senate seat upon Dianne Feinstein's retirement.

One can judge a person by the enemies they make. In that regard, Adam Schiff is doing something right. If you're so inclined, you can donate here.

This is your open thread.
