Hump Day open thread: Do you know how to spell "flipped"?

The fact of the matter is that Donald Trump is nothing but a two-bit mafia capo. And like all mob bosses, eventually he will be ratted out. Enter the guy who possessed all the secrets:
Now, if you thought Mark Meadows was going to go down with Trump and take an adjoining cell, then you simply do not know how the mob works. You're loyal as long as the good times are rolling. But once those RICO charges start to pile up, well, it's every man for himself. Mr. Meadows was never going to fall on his sword. No one around Trump has any loyalty to him, because he has no loyalty to anyone. Or, I should say: No one with half a brain has any loyalty to him. Any relationship with Trump, as with any mob boss, is merely transactional, no matter how many blood oaths one swears.

What will be interesting to see is what kind of immunity deal Mr. Meadows received. Because you know there had to be one. As with the mob, the betrayals come only after the Feds have you dead to rights. And when you know that you are not the target. Small fish will give up bigger fish. Mr. Meadows was the largest of the small fish, even bigger than Mike Pence. Mr. Pence was basically an outsider looking in. Mr. Meadows? He was in to his neck with, well, everything.

There is a reason Jack Smith was brought onboard. Mr. Smith has prosecuted mobsters. And that is how you attack this conspiracy. A bunch of goombahs getting together to overthrow American democracy. Add to that espionage, and Jack Smith is exactly the kind of bulldog you want leading this pack of prosecutors. I mean, for Pete's sake, look at his barely-disguised disgust at this reporter trying to get him to spill the beans:

Where Robert Mueller was a chihuahua who barked a lot but had no bite, Mr. Smith is a Doberman who will make you feel all the mistakes you have made in your life which led you to having his jaws around your neck. I'm old enough to remember when the Usual Suspects™ were wailing that Attorney General Merrick Garland had "punted" on Trump by appointing the special prosecutor. Obviously, this was a plot to sweep everything under the rug. Well, I expect no admissions of being wrong from that lot, but we knew this was the beginning of the end for Trump.

Anyway, here's a little ditty for Mark from Verdun. Sad that you have never had the courage of any of the soldiers who fell on that hallowed ground.

Postscript

Seems like I was correct. Mark Meadows gave up everything:
