Friday open thread: Mindfulness
Happy Friday, friends!
I will have MUCH more to write about where we go from here after the plague. But for today, we'll continue in yesterday's vein and focus on mental and spiritual health.
Much has been spoken about mindfulness. The definition:
1. the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.When all is in chaos, it becomes even more important to be aware of your surroundings, of those around you, and of yourself. Being mindful can help to avoid, or minimize, natural feelings of anxiety and/or panic. As we go into the weekend, now is as good a time as any to practice mindfulness, accepting all the feelings you have, but being able to not be ruled by them.
2. a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.
Be at peace, friends. We need to save and build our strength for the fight coming up.
