In the words of my people: OLY CHIT!

So, I was expecting two things out of tonight's election news. A) Virginia Democrats would solidify their power, and B) Kentuckians, even though they hate their GOP politicians, would re-elect Matt Bevin to the governor's house, just like they'd most likely re-elect Mitch McConnell next year.

Expectation A happened.

However, Kentucky has upended every goddamned thing.

It's now projected that Bevin's Democratic challenger, Andy Beshear, will be the new governor of Kentucky.

Again, as my people say: OLY CHIT!

Remember, Donald Trump went to Kentucky to campaign for Bevin, alongside McConnell and human excrement Rand Paul. He said:
Well, I'm sure that Trump will find some way to escape blame. But human jellyfish Chuck Todd opined that if Bevin won Kentucky, he would have impeachment to thank. Seems that he didn't win Kentucky, and Beshear had impeachment to thank.

As I wrote today:
Of course, local elections are not necessarily indicative of national trends. But the Blue Wave of 2018 was presaged by special and off-year elections in 2017, so there is correlation, if not causation.
Man, I'm not bad, am I?

Mitch McConnell has just been dealt a body blow. If deep red Kentucky, with its election laws geared towards a GOP majority, has just flipped blue, Turtle must be doing some fevered calculations in his head. This isn't a canary in a coal mine; it's a goddamned parrot squawking out "BEWARE! BEWARE!"

This is the worst news Trump could have hoped for, because now Republican senators will be scared shitless. The GOP just lost Kentucky. The electorate signaled it wants Trump gone. And the GOP senate may deliver that just in a futile attempt to save its own skin.

Trump's meltdown should be epic. If he's not tranquilized with Thorazine.

Good night, patriots. We've got this.
