It's Personal
I'm not Puerto Rican. But my friend, Ramon, is.
I'm not a veteran. But several of my fraternity brothers are.
I'm not a veteran. But several of my fraternity brothers are.
I'm not a small business owner. But my college friend, Mark, is.
I'm not gay. But several of my close friends are.
I'm not trans. But I've had the privilege of working alongside those who are.
I'm not Muslim. But I've closely collaborated with those who are.
I'm not a person of color. But I've had the great privilege of supporting those who are.

I'm not Muslim. But I've closely collaborated with those who are.
I'm not a person of color. But I've had the great privilege of supporting those who are.
I'm not an immigrant. But my wife and her friends are.
I'm not a refugee. But I've heard their stories and how they got here.
I'm not a woman. But I've witnessed them lead time and time again.
I'm not disabled. But I've seen what a debilitating disease can do to a beloved family member.
I'm none of these things. And yet, I am all of these things.
Because when Donald Trump and his ilk insult a whole subset of people, they insult all of us. Their words insinuate that there are those among us who are somehow inferior to others. Their efforts are to divide us and create a hierarchy of those who have the "good genes" and those who don't. Disturbing eugenics aside, they paint those in the minority as unworthy. It's easier to see people as the "other" when you intentionally dehumanize them. It's why we hear so many animal references to immigrants and refugees, a practice that is so often used as a pretense to war and genocide. By separating people into categories, Republicans create a hierarchy of who they see as most like them. Those at the bottom of this hierarchy are ripe for ridicule as we have seen time and time again.
But enough is enough.
I'm tired and I'm not even one who has to read about how he and his community are somehow subhuman. Unless Donald Trump starts with Democrats, I won't end up on the wall for quite some time. But those I love will. Those I care about will. Those that make my life more enjoyable and worth living will. But Trump's not hiding it anymore. He wants to deport immigrants, their citizenship status be damned. Of course, he won't deport his wife but you get the idea. He sees immigrants as inherently inferior just as he does Black people. You know he drops the n-word in private. When he says who he is, believe him. The man is a racist and he has given his party permission to be unapologetically the same. The GOP has always been this way, Trump simply allowed them to be that way in the public sphere.
That's why this motherfucker has to be defeated. Madison Square Garden was just the latest. His mind is mush and his worst instincts are boiling to the surface. He can't control his worst impulses. When a malignant narcissist descends into dementia, he can no longer censor himself. But his party is so pot-committed that they allow it to happen. They enable Trump to be Trump. Sure they appear to express remorse every so often when one of their own says the quiet part out loud. But by and large, Republicans agree with Trump. He hates the same people they do. And while they might not agree to the extent Trump will go to advance his ethnic cleansing policies, they certainly won't be stopping him from doing so any time soon.
Fuck Donald Trump. Fuck JD Vance. Fuck Stephen Miller. Fuck MTG. Fuck E-loony Musk.
Seven motherfucking days. I'm sick of these racist assholes making life miserable for those I love. Seven days of putting up with their final puerile tantrums before we send them packing on November 5th. I don't just want a Harris presidency. I want 330 electoral votes. I want 51 Democratic senators. I want Speaker Hakeem Jeffries. And I want these pendejos to feel the sting of rejection, a sting so intense that it leaves no room for doubt the only way to make America great again is to rid it of this vile Trump movement once and for all.
We can do this together. We have to do this together. Enough with the insults. Enough with the hate and division. Enough of the dehumanization. We're better than this. You know it. I know it. The only way for us to prove it is to kick Republicans' ass on November 5th. I'm sick of these fuckers and I know you are too. Let's bury them and their movement and take back decency in this country.
And let's not have any more American Nazi rallies any time soon.
