"You know nothing about the boxes"

From ABC News:

One of former President Donald Trump's long-time assistants told federal investigators that Trump repeatedly wrote to-do lists for her on documents from the White House that were marked classified, according to sources familiar with her statements.

As described to ABC News, the aide, Molly Michael, told investigators that -- more than once -- she received requests or taskings from Trump that were written on the back of notecards, and she later recognized those notecards as sensitive White House materials -- with visible classification markings -- used to brief Trump while he was still in office about phone calls with foreign leaders or other international-related matters.

The notecards with classification markings were at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate when FBI agents searched the property on Aug. 8, 2022 -- but the materials were not taken by the FBI, according to sources familiar with what Michael told investigators.

When Michael, who was not present for the search, returned to Mar-a-Lago the next day to clean up her office space, she found the documents underneath a drawer organizer and helped transfer them to the FBI that same day, sources told ABC News.

The sources said Michael also told federal investigators that last year she grew increasingly concerned with how Trump handled recurring requests from the National Archives for the return of all government documents being kept in boxes at Mar-a-Lago -- and she felt that Trump's claims about it at the time would be easy to disprove, according to the sources.

Sources said that after Trump heard the FBI wanted to interview Michael last year, Trump allegedly told her, "You don't know anything about the boxes."

Shockingly, Donlad Trump is no Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Hell, he isn't even a Jar-Jar Binks. He's someone who's a lifelong criminal who has never been told no a single time in his life. From the time he entered this world on third base thinking he'd hit a triple, Donald Trump never cared to learn right from wrong. All he cared about is what was right for him: for his ego, for his image, and for his bottom line. He hung around with Jeffrey Espstein because that's where all the action was. He bullied small contractors because he knew he could wear them down and wear them out. He brought in sniveling sycophants like Michael Cohen to discreetly make his indiscretions go away. For 70 years, Donald J. Trump lived in a world where he was protected, no matter what he did. He firmly believed these protections would continue in his new role as president of the United States where the entire Republican Party would protect and enable him even further. Having never been told no a single time in his life, it's no wonder why Trump refuses to acknoweldge the results of the 2020 election. He's never lost anything; his brain simply can't fathom what it's like not to win.

Losing the 2020 election broke his brain. He panicked. He lost 63 out of 64 court cases challenging the election. He tried to manipulate Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger to find enough votes to win him the state. He tried to pressure Mike Pence to "do the right thing" and send the electoral votes back to the states on January 6th. When everything else had failed, he incited an insurrection by telling his people to "fight like hell" for him, a message they took all too well to heart. When he finally called off his people on that infamous day, 140 police officers had been hurt and five people had died, including Officer Brian Sicknick. Like a cornered animal, Donald Trump was lashing out at everything and everyone trying to maintain what little power he had left at all costs.

But a desperate criminal is a stupid criminal and Donald Trump was never all that bright to begin with. With the Mar-a-Lago documents case might not be the "sexiest" of his 4 indictments, this one has real teeth with Jack Smith at the helm. Because between his two cases against Donald Trump, Smith has access to tens of thousands of documents showing just how reckless the former presidenet had become. He refused to lose and not in a good, uplifting, made-for-TV type way. Instead, Trump's tiny pea brain couldn't compute that for the first time in 74 years, he would left completely vulnerable, having made legitimate enemies in positions of power. It should be no surprise then that Donald Trump would illegally remove classified documents, thinking that they were, in fact, his. And it should be no surprise that Donald Trump was absolutely careless in trying to cover up this crime.

You don't know anything about the boxes. No, Donald. Your aide Molly does, in fact, know about the boxes. She knows a lot about the boxes. And it's her knowledge of what you did, and more specifically what you didn't do with those boxes that is going to make her quite the compelling witness at your upcoming trial.

We'll all be watching, popcorn in hand.
