They. Have. Nothing.
Republicans aren't sending their best to Congress.
Case in point, allow me to introduce to you Rep. Jason Smith of the great state of Missouri:

I said next question, damnit!
Rep. Smith didn't quite say that, but it's definitely what he was thinking. Because in the rare instance that our media actually does the job it is supposed to do, Republicans like Smith simply can't handle their lies and manipulations being publicly called out. They're so entrenched in the whole "the media is the enemy" narrative that they become combative when confronted with actual questions from a functional media. Combined with the fact that they're immersed in the conservative news bubble, it should be no surprise that Republicans like Smith and his ilk are never challenged on the actual validity of what they are saying. Because just like a spoiled child at home, if you continue to allow the behavior then nothing will ever change.
Comparing Republicans to spoiled children is an insult to children. Because at least spoiled children can correct and modify their bad behavior. Republicans know they are lying. They know their accusations are laughable. They know they are projecting the worst traits of Donald Trump onto Joe Biden in hopes that something sticks. They just don't care. They know their voters are rubes and simpletons who will vote straight-R even when a mountain of contrary evidence is staring them directly in the face. Independent and moderate voters heard all about Hunter Biden and Burisma in 2020 and they overwhelmingly didn't care. Republicans attempting to rehash the issue leading up to the 2024 election is the political equivalent of drunk driving and hitting a tree and then going home, getting sloshed, and taking a second car out later that same day. Tempting fate a second time, as Republicans are doing, can only end poorly.
Yet, that's all they have. Joe Biden has led a scandal-free presidency just as Barack Obama did before him. He has had a remarkably successful first term that accomplished so much in two years with a razor-thin majority in the House and Senate. While our media grasps at straws through flawed polling and bothsidesism, Democrats continue to work on behalf of the American people. At a time when Congressman Smith should be working with his House colleagues to avert a MAGA-inspired shutdown in 3 days, he instead is holding a press conference trying to reintroduce the very same non-scandal that got Donald Trump impeached in 2019. It wasn't a scandal then and it certainly isn't a scandal now. And the fact that Congressman Smith and the rest of the Republican Party still don't realize this is exactly how and why Joe Biden and Democrats will achieve sweeping, widespread victories in 2024.
