Roe v. Wade
The problem with being me is that I can never quite turn off. I'm always looking at my phone "one more time", just in case.
I was looking at my phone one more time when I saw this:

Fuck you to every goddamned motherfucker who didn't vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Fuck you to hell. May you burn in your goddamned fucking purity. May you choke on the dollar bills you threw at her. May your bowels decay from the beans you ate to pass gas at her. I want to know none of you. And no, Bernie wouldn't have won, you goddamned motherfuckers.
OK. Now that that's out of the way.
The GOP Supreme Court just, possibly, handed the Democratic Party not just only 2022, not just only 2024, but control of government for a generation, if not more.
Polling is clear: the majority of American voters did not want Roe v. Wade overturned. The majority of American voters want nationwide abortion rights. The majority of American voters were just undone by a Supreme Court whose composition consists of justices nominated by the losers of seven of the last eight elections.
And this is an indication of how the GOP and the right know they will lose. They know 2022 won't turn out as they've been bragging. They know this country is slipping away from them. So they gambled everything on this decision, hoping it will motivate their voters to the polls. But if they thought this would get a fire under their voters, they have most likely underestimated the more than equal reaction from those who support abortion rights.
Regardless of my disdain for those who didn't vote for Secretary Clinton in 2016, that's now besides the point. This is the nuclear event which needed to happen. And why? To quote Winston Churchill: "Americans will do the right thing, only after they have tried everything else." This will obliterate any divisions we have on the liberal-left. This is the extinction level event which will unite us. The regressive right is about to find out that a people enraged will not be denied. It's about to find out that it is not the majority, and will be swept aside. And if it's so foolish as to turn to violence, it will be destroyed.
Gird your loins, my friends. The war has begun in earnest. We dare not fail.
