Bless Her Soul: Nina Turner Tries and Fails Once Again To Take Down Shontel Brown in Ohio

Taking a break from the earth-shattering news of Monday to provide a bit of light-hearted comic relief.

On Tuesday evening, incumbent Congresswoman Shontel Brown eased to victory in her rematch with Nina Turner, beating the Bernie Sanders- and AOC-backed challenger by a whopping 33 points

Last year, Nina Turner blew a 35-point lead after running one of the worst campaign in modern Democratic history. This year, she chose to run again as the clear underdog did nothing to improve her standing. She still is divisive, uncouth, and offensive to anyone not named Bernie Sanders. While her opponent Shontel Brown brought in representatives Hakeem Jeffries, Nikema Williams, and James Clyburn to campaign for her during the final GOTV weekend, Turner decided to attack Brown for being in the pocket of big oil and attempted to "prove" this by sharing a picture of her greeting a truck driver in the bed of his or her semi. It was the type of attack that not only reeked of desperation but it was one so befuddling that the poster from Team Turner clearly didn't even understand what the exact message was supposed to be and how the average OH-11 voter was supposed to be offended. With the recent endorsement of none other than Joe Biden himself, the momentum was clearly on the side of Brown heading into Tuesday's democratic primary and the campaigning and social media messaging would reaffirm this to be true.

This is Turner's third significant loss in Ohio politics. But like many on the far left, she's all about the grift. If she chooses not to run for office again in 2024, we more than likely will see her go the Tulsi Gabbard route to become a foil against the Democratic Party. Because for those like Turner, it has never been about the party but instead about building her brand. Like former Sanders staffer Briahna Joy Gray, she seeks to build a loyal audience that will follow her on whatever platform she ends up on next. There is money to be made in being a Democratic contrarian as Gabbard and Gray have shown us and with Biden being a calm, competent president, news outlets like Fox News rely on these turncoat Democrats to create the illusion of disarray in an otherwise supremely competent administration. Turner's second attempt at knocking down Brown was never about winning; it was all about setting the stage for her next money-making venture. It was her way of saying "See? The Democrats could have had somebody like me and chose not to. This is why they're corrupt."

We don't buy it. And Tuesday the voters in the Ohio 11th Congressional district didn't buy it either. They saw through Turner once before and did again on Tuesday evening. The fact that the race was called within 90 minutes of the polls closing showed how dominant Brown was. The sooner Ohio ditches Nina Turner, the better for each and every one of us.

And the sooner she starts her gig at Fox News, the more we all will realize how right we were about her true intentions.
