Weekend self-care open thread: Dame Shirley Bassey

For those of us of a certain age, Dame Shirley Bassey was James Bond. She was the only artist to have recorded three 007 themes.

But she's so much more than that. 

She was/is the first Black British artist to top the charts. She is the silky, sexy, Welsh chanteuse to break out of a monochrome post-war British artistic landscape. She was part of that ferment which led to the British Invasion.

Dame Shirley was part of that first Cool Britannia. And for this weekend's self-care, we shall celebrate her art.
