True Crime Friday: William George Davis , Texas Nurse Serial Killer

William George Davis said to his wife, I killed the patients because I wanted to get more overtime. Yes, that makes perfect sense to any insane person. He was born February 3, 1984 and is now a professed serial killer. Davis is believed to have murdered eleven patient but he was only convicted of four murders to due lack of evidence in the other cases. He killed four patients by injecting air into their Intravenous Therapy (IV) after they received heart surgery at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Texas.

The Early Childhood of William George Davis

I researched this case and could not find anything regarding Davis’s childhood. There is nothing written about his early teen or early adulthood. Obviously, he was disturbed to commit such evil acts. He married and seem to be living a normal life. Everyone that knew him said he was kind, warm and a good person to be around. There must have been some cracks in his façade but no one seem to notice or he was very good at covering it up.

The Survivors of William George Davis

  • Five Unknown Patients
Unbeknownst to Davis he was seen on footage from the hospital video cameras, going into the patient’s room and then waiting outside the rooms for the machines to sounds the alarm. He then walks to the victims’ room acting calmly to assist the very patients in which he injected air. The unsuspecting patients, doctors and nursing staff had no clue that their colleague was responsible for the chaos. Usually, serial killers have a history of abuse and neglect doing their early years. I suspect that William George Davis suffered some type of trauma in his life to push him this far over the edge. After all what drives a person to kill unless there has been some type of trauma event to spark a murderous flame.

Hospital staff began to notice the high number of patients who were suffering massive stroke like symptoms after they had recovered from cardiac surgery. Many of the victims recovered from the air injections into their Intravenous Therapy (IV) but suffered permanent brain damage.

In the beginning, these deaths seemed to be coincidences but so many of these deaths were occurring that the hospital administration felt the need to conduct an investigation. After the investigation had begun Davis quickly became a suspect because he was on duty when these deaths were occurring. Davis was also seem on video footage going into the rooms shortly before the patients when into cardiac arrest. There was not an explanation given as to why Davis targeted patients after they had heart surgery.

During the investigation it was discovered that Davis was injecting air into the patients Intravenous Therapy (IV) lines, causing catastrophic neurological damage. Davis explained to his wife that he was injecting the patients with air in an attempt to gain more overtime hours.
