Early weekend self-care open thread: St. Paddy's Day weekend with the TRY Channel!
With me working at home during the pandemic, I had the TV on in the background on a constant basis. But it wasn't tuned to news. No, no. I had enough of that after the insurrection. I put on things which would calm me and get me through the day, or things which would make me laugh and remind me that there would be an after-time.
One of the YouTube channels which served that function, and still does, is the Try Channel. Run by Sean Connolly, Colin Regan, and Kellie Hughes, this trio brings young—and not so young—Irish comedians to try out various drinks and foods from around the world, and then comment on them as comedians are wont to do. Their videos drop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and for your humble blog lord it is appointment viewing. There have been only a couple of offerings where I've been underwhelmed. They regularly make me laugh and forget any cares I have.
So, for this early weekend self-care, kiss the Blarney Stone and pour yourself a pint of Guinness!
Whatever you do this weekend to celebrate, please do so safely.
As always, dear friends, be ever kind and gentle with yourselves. We are often our own worst critics.
