Weekend self-care open thread: Christmas kickoff with John Lewis advert

Happy weekend, friends!

I hope you've been satiated by the humble turkey by now, and are ready for the festive season. 

As is tradition around these here parts, we begin the end-run to the conclusion of the year by posting the new holiday advert from UK retailer John Lewis. I simply love these ads, full of both whimsy and a hint of the sadness which the season brings.

Ah, yes, the sadness. This season isn't festive for everyone, for a multitude of reasons. But, as always, I hope that the camaraderie we have here on this blog lessens that sadness somewhat.
