Monday open thread: Let's get this done!
Maybe it's because the weather in the City of Fallen Angels has been absolutely gorgeous. Maybe it's because I'm surrounded by people who love and care for me. Maybe it's because no matter how down I get, I get myself up. Maybe it's the THC. But I heartily second this tweet:

Democrats are going to win the Midterms
We have just under 300 days to prove to the world that the reports of democracy's demise have been exaggerated.

For me, the DLCC—Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee—needs help the most. Winning local elections is what seeds the earth for winning national elections. But all need our support.
Don't have the cheddar, but have some time? Have a silky-smooth speaking voice? Love shooting the shit with anyone and everyone? Then when the time comes, consider phone-banking. Politics are a retail, not wholesale, business, and reaching just one voter might make all the difference in a close election.
Not a fan of calling strangers? Don't worry, neither am I. That's why text-banking is such a great thing, along with writing postcards to voters.
In short, our fates are in our hands. They always have been. As that community organizer said, we are the change for which we've been waiting. Freedom, as the saying goes, is not free. It has to be fought for, always. Now is our time.
