By the time I rouse myself out of bed, we may have a decision concerning voting rights from the Supreme Court. The tea-leaf readers think that Samuel Alito will be the one to write the decision, so hands are being wrung and shpadoinkles are being lost. Yes, anything Alito writes is 90% guaranteed to be awful. Yet, we persist, and keep on fighting. To do any other would be to betray the memories and the struggles of those who came before us.
