Monday Moments: #Selma55

Rather than shower you all with my wisdom today, I'll let the incomparable John Lewis share with you all his rallying cry from yesterday's 55th anniversary of the march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama.

Fifty-five years ago, Lewis nearly gave his life for his cause. Fifty-five years later, that cause is under attack by a fascist, authoritarian regime. In 2016, we were all warned about the danger that we as a nation faced. Instead of listening, there were those among us that threw their sacred vote away because their privilege was more important than protecting their fellow men and women. Fast forward four years and we again face the same choice and we now have the wisdom of John Lewis speaking to our collective conscience. Ignoring this wisdom would be tragic; we simply cannot endure four more years of this cabal of corruption. It up to all of us, across generations, to listen, really listen, to the John Lewises of the world and put our ego second to doing what is right for the future of this country.

We simply have no other options.
