Weekend self-care open thread: Ladies and gentlemen, Sir Elton John!
As a Gen-Xer, Sir Elton John was a mainstay of my youth. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" was on repeat play from my brother's vinyl collection.
Sir Elton slew many personal demons to become the icon he is today. As he's said many times, he probably should be dead. And we can all identify with his struggle to be his authentic, genuine self in a world which didn't want to accord him the respect his choices deserved.
This weekend we celebrate this wonderful human being.

As always, dear friends, be ever kind, gentle, and joyful with yourselves and those around you.
(And yes, I chose that picture for a very specific reason. VAMOS DOYERS!!)
