Weekend self-care: Celebrating Women's History Month

I'm pretty sure that piece of utter tripe who currently inhabits the Oval Office didn't issue a proclamation for Women's History Month the way the nice Black lady would have, or the way the old man who stuttered did. But we on this blog will not shirk celebrating women's achievements.

This is not to say that I'm of the "just let women run the world" brigade. Margaret Thatcher was a woman. Indira Gandhi was a woman. Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh who tried to institute a dictatorship in Bangladesh is a woman. Femininity is not dispositive to good outcomes. As always, the person matters.

But be that as it may, women have done and continue to do amazing things. So this weekend we shall laud and celebrate those deeds.

I will never forgive the men who voted to subjugate their mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters. And I will never forgive the women who voted to subjugate themselves. But we carry on.

As always, dear friends, be ever kind, gentle, and joyful with yourselves and those around you.

And remember:
