Weekend self-care open thread: Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones!

Well! I saw that our very own MOMU was going to go to karaoke on Friday evening, and was thinking of singing songs by the bad boys of rock, the Rolling Stones. So, what better way to celebrate the final weekend of June than by celebrating those Satanic majesties?

In my house growing up with my brothers, the Stones and the Beatles were the Alpha and Omega. Sure, they introduced me to other music. But these were the titans. And, if pressed, I must say I prefer the Stones. Their music arose out of the Black American musical milieu. And they regularly credited Black American musicians for their career. No Bo Diddley, no Mick Jagger. No Chuck Berry, no Keith Richards.

So gather 'round, children. The Stones are playing.
